A missionary is someone who leaves his or her home for a little while so others can have their families forever.

Our Mission Scriptures

Our Mission Scriptures:

"Oh, that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart . . . Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth." Alma 29:1-2 (Book of Mormon)

" . . . be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:58 (Bible)

Sweet Opportunities for us to Teach

There is only one sacred book with a promise that anyone can know it is true if they desire that knowledge.

Tonight we were able to testify that the Book of Mormon is true and it contains the word of God.  We witnessed that it contains solid evidence that Jesus Christ lives and He is our Savior.  We know through His Atonement we can return to live in the kingdom of God when we do all that is required of us while here on the earth.  We shared this information in Family Home Evening with a beautiful family of four (all females)!

THE PROMISE:  "Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask of God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."  Moroni 10:3-5

Because of the truth revealed in the Bible and Book of Mormon scriptures, we can count on the Holy Ghost to help people to find the correct path in life for themselves.  We don't have to pressure people into religion.  All we need to do is find the courageous souls that are searching for truth and willing to follow Jesus Christ and pattern their lives after Him.  Pray that we will find them.

The family we taught tonight consisted of two darling, young investigators, 12 and 14 years of age, a faithful single mother and her lovely oldest daughter.  What a great privilege is was to meet and get to know these beautiful daughters of Father in Heaven.  They are loads of fun and we look forward to meeting with them again in a couple days.

We were deeply touched as were leaving the home of these sweet sisters because the two investigators were in the kitchen already reading the Book of Mormon verses they had committed to read!  What an example they are!  If everyone we met with followed through like that, many good people would become members of Christ's Church.  What a lovely feeling we had when we left that home.

We can only hope and pray that these young investigators will sincerely want to know the truth and pray about it so they can gain a witness of the Book of Mormon.  On the way home, we enjoyed a spectacular sunset that made the clouds glow golden around the edges.  I like to think of it as a symbol of the glorious destiny these young women can embrace as members of the Church.
I took this photo in Salt Lake last spring.

I'm sorry we missed getting a photo of the sunset, but the car windows were too dirty and we were on the motorway.
