Why did I ever pray for patience all these years? He is still trying to give it to me! It seems everything we are trying to do is harder than it should be. Yes, I know, I know. The mission president said we are here for a purpose and people have their agency. Aaaaggghhhuugh! I want that agency! No, I repent right now. That is prideful and wrong. Sorry, temptation lurks at every corner. Yes the adverse-ary (referring to Satan--as pronounced in England) IS creating adversity as usual. It is a fight to keep our spirits up when we have had a rash of rejection, but just turning to the scriptures has brought peace (thank you).
Elder Blain sat at the table last night sorta staring at nothing. He said, "We were one for six visits on Thursday and two for five confirmed appointments yesterday." Noooooo! We are NOT going to start that game of keeping track of our so-called successes and failures! We are just going to remember that our labors, no matter how inadequate or unproductive they may seem at times, are the Lord's work and realize this process is the only way to find those who DO want to be taught.
With that in mind, I am posting a picture of how our faces may have looked at the end of the day yesterday. The picture below is of Maisey. She was visiting the home of her human grandmother while her human parents were on holiday. Her ears are sooooo soft and she loved cuddling up to us, though we could tell she is waiting for her family to return as she listened for outdoor noise and looked out the window to check it out. She was a bright spot in our day, along with the dear sister we read and discussed scriptures with for an hour.
Don't worry, Maisey, they'll be home soon and no, we cannot take you with us.
Later yesterday, we also met with the lovely family that is struggling with all of their might against huge opposition to adopt a darling little girl who is actually a niece on the maternal side. They are keeping the faith and trusting God will help everything to work out for the best--whatever that will be.
Okay, so with this happy smile given freely, we shall continue to go forth with faith and new resolve to WORK!
Cute dog! Don't let people get you down! You guys are doing good to someone's life! :-)
