Missions are Fun

A missionary is someone who leaves his or her home for a little while so others can have their families forever.

Curious about Mormons? Go to the source and find real people at mormon.org--read what they believe and have live chats if you wish! (an official Church website)

Or, go to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, official web site: lds.org.

Note: The Blain's England Manchester Mission blog is a personal blog that is not endorsed, approved, or sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Our Mission Scriptures

Our Mission Scriptures:

"Oh, that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart . . . Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth." Alma 29:1-2 (Book of Mormon)

" . . . be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:58 (Bible)

1,000 Years is Young in England

"In my Father's house there are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."  John 14:2-3

Our teaching moments continue with the family we have been sharing with you on this blog.  I mentioned that the town they live in is 1,000 years old.  Since the history in England goes far beyond that, this is not as old by their standards as by our standards in the United States.  We have artifacts from ancient civilizations, but not the many buildings that are still standing in countries in this part of the world.
The town we've been lucky enough to spend lots of time in lately.
Notice the 1635 date on this home just around the corner from where we meet with the family we are teaching.
Notice how the windows are made.
The gate,obviously

Little Highlight is getting to be a big girl!
The beard is coming along nicely
Is she contented or what?  Food, food, and more food.  Running free.  Mom called to her when we drove up because she sensed the car was a danger and Highlight came running from the field across the way.  Good girl minds her mum.
The lady we were supposed to meet with the night we took these pictures of the horse (Tuesday) stood us up, so at least it wasn't a total waste.  We got to see our favorite filly!  We still don't know her real name.  I just call her Highlight, since she is just that--one of those highlights in a day.
