". . . humble yourselves before the Lord, and call on his holy name, and watch and pray continually, that ye may not be tempted above that which ye can bear, and thus be led by the Holy Spirit, becoming humble, meek, submissive, patient, full of love and long-suffering." Alma 13:28
As I write this post, the fireworks are still going off with a continued celebration of Guy Fawkes Day. Someone said to expect it to continue for a couple of months. We shall see . . .
Tomorrow we are off to seek more flats for missionaries. We were told it is supposed to snow tomorrow. All of England will shut down if that happens!! We have appointments and don't want to lose any time, so we are hoping for a good travel day.
Notes from Fast and Testimony Meeting:
I never heard the prophet referred to as a “bloke” before, but, hey, this is England!
Another person said that he looked at his hands and noticed scars, which reminded him of his own stupidity. One scar was from being shot by his brother and another from burning his hand on a hot engine. He went on to explain some of the other things that caused the scars and marveled at how the body heals itself. He related this to being able to repent and having things put right spiritually. We can have our wounds healed through Christ's Atonement.
Another man stood up and said the scars in the Savior's hands were from his own stupidity in the things he'd done wrong in his life.
Both meetings were very spiritual and enjoyable.
An observation concerning my blog:
The missionary blog started out as a way to help family and friends experience our adventures in England. Now, I realize it isn't just the people we know checking into the blog. I cannot imagine much interest from general public, and many of the hits are probably accidents as people are searching topics, but it is fun to check the stats on this blog once in a while and see which posts are getting the most page views.
The one that has received the most interest was a post in Aug. entitled, "For the Horse Lovers & Death by Gravy." I would guess that the, "Horse," is what gets the hits.
The next most popular post is, "Have a New Year Revolution." That one is worrisome because I wonder how many people are looking for information on a revolution for the new year.
Obviously, the next one, "Ladies' European Tour Professional Golfers at Preston Temple," would be popular due to the sports interest.
People also seem to like the old ruins photos.
I think there are hits from Spanish speaking people on, "Mi Companero," perhaps while looking for a friend.
When seeing some of the countries hitting those sites, I hope it isn't by accident, but that they truly are seeking and finding something that will bring them joy and meaning to life. So, for any strangers finding new.lds.org for the first time because you've accidentally run across my blog, welcome to a new world of spiritual information that will bless you if you are willing to have an open mind and heart to learn about Christianity. Thank you for your interest.
Gma and Gpa..I love you!!! Love reading all the posts!!! Keep 'em up!!!
