Riding Lesson and Visit to Horses

An horse is a vain thing for safety . . . Psalms 33:17  ". . . their land is also full of horses . . ."  2 Nephi 12:7
Below are some of the horses we visited while watching N's riding lesson on Saturday.  It was 9 a.m. and a bitter cold wind was blowing, but it was great to watch the riders and visit the horses (even though they were very shaggy and not exactly in show condition with all the mud and rain.  They were also eating dinner.

Warming up for class

Good form even if she didn't get her favorite horse this day
Leader of the pack
A little jump practice
Very unique coloring and I love those feathers on the legs
These fouls were darling entertainment, especially the black one.
Look at me!  I'm too cute.
How about this profile shot?  I'm so pretty, oh so pretty, it's amazing how pretty I am . . .
In all modesty, I  AM the most beautiful
Is he going to get me with that umbrella or teach me the gospel?
Hum, I'm skeptical.  Never trust a man dressed in a suit and tie in the stable

Ride a cock-horse to Banbury Cross, to see a fine lady upon a white horse--that's me!!

Excuse me, can't a fellow eat in peace?
Many of us have a shave under our necks and bellies.  Someone know what that is all about?
(blinking her beautiful eyes)  Pleeeeeese, I'm not exactly presentable!
Whats with all the attention to the horses? I am man's best friend and the oldest on the premises.  Oh, the stories I could tell . . .

Anyone have ear growing tonic?  I wanna play the burro in the Christmas play.

  1. LOVE the horse pictures! They are soooo cute. :-) I think they shave them to keep them cleaner or cooler when they sweat. Can't remember what it is for sure....

  3. Those pictures are so cute! They shave them so when the horse sweats, it will dry off faster without all of that long hair.
