Christ Has Restored His Original Church!

A missionary is someone who leaves his or her home for a little while so others can have their families forever.

Our Mission Scriptures

Our Mission Scriptures:

"Oh, that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart . . . Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth." Alma 29:1-2 (Book of Mormon)

" . . . be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:58 (Bible)

Kindness Begins With Me and More Fun Pictures

"And thus they were instruments in the hands of God in bringing many to the knowledge of the truth, yea, to the knowledge of their Redeemer.  And how blessed are they!  For they did publish peace; they did publish good tidings of good; and they did declare unto the people that the Lord reigneth."  Mosiah 27:36-37

Who would want to bother dedicated young missionaries such as these Elders from Spain?  I guess the same people who threatened and persecuted Jesus Christ and His Apostles as they tried to teach the gospel.  Hateful people don't bother to learn what The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is all about (a Christian religion).  They just assume they know from myths and lies.  They have eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear--and won't.  As we search for safe places for our missionaries to live, we hope to find places where people are respectful and kind.  We have spent 13 hour days searching for the past week and finally found a flat that should be peaceful.  Now, we start looking for the next one!
I say, let us bring back stocks and put the mean people in there to give them some of their own medicine for a few days.  Oh, repent ye (me first), repent ye (them), and let us all live as brothers and sisters, being kind to one another.

"Every action of our lives touches on some chord that will vibrate in eternity."  -Edwin Hubbel Chapin

"We see things not as they are, but as we are.  -Talmud

"Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless."  -Mother Theresa

"Trials will only give us the knowledge necessary to understand the minds of the ancients.  For my part, I think I never could have felt as I now do, if I had not suffered the wrongs that I have suffered.  All things shall work together for the good of them that love God. -Joseph Smith

Below I share and excerpt from A Perfect Day, by Richard Paul Evans, where his two characters are talking about hell (you may also want to check out his new book, Promise Me or find his favorite quotes on his web site).

". . . the simple truth is that we don't come to earth to make a name for ourselves just so time can erase it.  That's not what it's about."

"Then what is it about?"

"It's about learning how to love."

"So you're saying that there really is a heaven and hell."

"Yes."

" . . . with fire and brimstone."

"No."

". . . Hell is the  perfect recollection of every evil thing you've done in your life, every thoughtless word, every cruel, evil thought or action.  It's knowing that you could have helped your brother and didn't.  Hell is clarity, Bob.  It's nothing more than clarity.  Do you want to know what heaven is?  It's the same thing."

With lots of hard work and prayers, a safe place has been found for two sets of missionaries.  It is a miracle that anything was found so quickly in exactly the place the Lord wants them.  We are sure he'll help us find the second flat so one set can move into their own place soon that is another proselyting area.  We need to locate them a distance from each other so the good news (gospel) can reach as many as possible.  Starting Monday, we'll be searching again.  This hunt for new flats will continue for the next three months at least until the mission president has everything in order for when a new president comes later next year.

As we traveled about, we saw another old church and some other interesting things we took pictures of for you to enjoy.
Old Church in Rochdale, England
Little buddies on the walls
Which king can this be?
Agony?
Kind of blurry picture, but there are many scary critters everywhere on this church
Lovely windows and flowers in the front
Hello?
Ever see plants like these?
This is a hospital
More than one person buried in the same spot.  These plaques were made for grave markers and engraved from old headstones that have been removed
Information about the church
These are growing in front of the church--most are about gone as the season ends for roses

I found these on a rainy day in Crewe when we went to mini-zone meeting and training
Wet day on pretty plant
More gorgeous colors
Another hardy rose at the new Relief Society president's house
Friends gathered together against the cooler weather
Elder Blain at his favorite place getting fish and chips at the end of a l-o-n-g day
Another survivor sharing beauty
The Relief Society president's protector
Her other protector?   Doesn't look too worried about us, but the teeth are always effective even if this is a smile
The dogs kept trying to "help" Elder Blain.  At least the cats were locked away this time.  They just LOVE to crawl all over him.

  1. Great pictures of the old buildings. :-) The architecture is so neat, even with all the weird critters on the sides.
