A missionary is someone who leaves his or her home for a little while so others can have their families forever.

Our Mission Scriptures

Our Mission Scriptures:

"Oh, that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart . . . Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth." Alma 29:1-2 (Book of Mormon)

" . . . be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:58 (Bible)

9-11 PM Conference Session

"Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."  Amos 3:7

What does the prophet say?  Have a thankful attitude towards God and man.  Express gratitude!  Be grateful for all our blessings.  A prayerful life will lead to gratitude because expressing it unlocks the windows of heaven and we recognize what we have been given by God. We get to know the Savior through prayers of gratitude as we think of and are thankful for, all He has done for us.  Gratitude is the parent of all other virtues.  Pride destroys gratitude.  Be humble and prayerful offering up prayers of gratitude every day and remember to thank others for the good things they do.
We and one other couple were the only people sitting in the chapel for the final session of conference Sunday night from 9 until 11 p.m.  This was a live broadcast going on at 2-4 p.m. in Utah.  The other couple was a counselor in the stake presidency and his wife.  He had to be there for the audio visual set up and take down.  Interesting once-in-a-lifetime experience.  The Sunday 5-7 p.m. session. which was Utah's 10-noon session, was better attended, but many can watch conference at home on the Telly.  I repent if having a member of the stake presidency take this picture for us in the chapel was sacrilegious as Karalee laughingly (but kindly) suggested.
From our seat--standing and singing, "I Am a Child of God."

Elder Blain spent eight hours on the hard benches for all of the conference sessions.  Six hours for the rest of the meetings were worth it 100% (two more hours on Saturday).  Conference was wonderful!!  The pictures of Temple Square did make me a bit homesick.

We had a wonderful Family Home Evening tonight with our English Family.  I hope to write more on that in the next couple days.  Pictures are forthcoming, but missionary work must be done first.  Priorities must stay in order.  We are having fun.  TRA!!
