I couldn't resist posting a part of our missionary grandson's, e-mail for the week. It is very touching and we can tell he has the missionary spirit, knowing he represents Jesus Christ and is doing His work. He is right. Missions aren't about us. We are only instrument to help others come unto Christ and be saved.

"I baptized Javier Rivera and his daughter on Saturday. He has lung cancer and can't barely walk or anything. Just before he came down into the water he was coughing up blood, so we had to do a special baptism and confirm him on the same day. In the MTC, the teachers tried to tell us one thing, that missions are not about you... not about your well being.. not about your health or nothing. You're simply the messenger, the voice, and when you realize that your mission will be 100 times better for you.
Well, Javier had a tough life. He'd made some bad decisions.. and was locked up for awhile when he was 17. I think one of the reasons he passed the baptism interview was because of the situation he was in...he wont live much longer I don't think. So after I baptized him, the witnesses shut the doors to the pilla and he just started crying..uncontrollably. He hugged me for like 3 minutes.. not saying anything. Thinking back on that moment I realize that hug was not between me and him. It was between him and his savior Jesus Christ, and through Him Javier had the ability to turn his life around."
