A missionary is someone who leaves his or her home for a little while so others can have their families forever.

Our Mission Scriptures

Our Mission Scriptures:

"Oh, that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart . . . Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth." Alma 29:1-2 (Book of Mormon)

" . . . be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:58 (Bible)

Foal Update and One Amazing Person

Our little guy (yes, we think it is a little stallion) has a friend joining him today.  His mother isn't quite so concerned to even be near him tonight.  The little guy (he needs a name) was frolicking in the woods and came out when I called him, along with his beautiful buddy.  That was a bonus for the evening.

The bonus for the day was meeting this wonderful older man (80 years old) who has the greatest sense of humor.  He is a small man who is very sharp mentally and physically spry.  You'd never know he is as old as he is.  He showed us a treasure of very old motorcycles he has restored and kept running.  They range from 1946 to 2007 and all are in perfect condition.  I will take a picture of them the next time we see him.

This man has a very strong testimony, but he has mostly not been involved with the Church for six years, since his wife died.  We fell in love with him within five minutes of meeting him.  The Spirit was so strong in his home that we were all brought to tears when he bore his testimony.  What was funny, though, is he kept saying there was no way to deny what he was feeling as we talked about his need to return to Church activity.  He was arguing with himself about how happy he was just going on with his life and not getting involved again all the while talking about how he was being pulled back because we'd arrived.  He kept cracking up over us being there and we laughed our heads off all the while.  You would have had to have been there to enjoy what I'm trying to explain.  Anyway, he promised to come to Church Sunday.  He'd better, or he will never get away from us.  After all, we told him we came all the way from America to get him back.  He is another one of those choice persons who makes being on a mission 110% worthwhile.  He is one more confirmation that the worth of a soul is sooooo worth it!
