A missionary is someone who leaves his or her home for a little while so others can have their families forever.

Our Mission Scriptures

Our Mission Scriptures:

"Oh, that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart . . . Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth." Alma 29:1-2 (Book of Mormon)

" . . . be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:58 (Bible)

YSA Activity Night

We see this man on the drive towards Chorley.  I still do not know what this is.  Scripture for the day: ". . . I know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day."
Alma 36:3

As we enter the temple grounds at 5 p.m. for activity nights, this is what we see.

This is what we see after the Institute classes are out and activities begin.
This is what we see at 11 p.m. when we leave
We and the security guard are the only ones left--totally serene and beautiful
The reason the scripture is chosen today is because our young people seem to regularly have a variety of trials in their lives.  Pressures are different than in the past.  Still, we all struggle with our personal challenges.  Trusting in God that all will work out is the only way to get through our day-to-day troubles.

  1. Hi Sister Blain,

I was excited to read and see pictures of your mission. My son was just called to serve there and will be going to the Preston MTC May 13th. I look forward to hearing more.
