A missionary is someone who leaves his or her home for a little while so others can have their families forever.

Our Mission Scriptures

Our Mission Scriptures:

"Oh, that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart . . . Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth." Alma 29:1-2 (Book of Mormon)

" . . . be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:58 (Bible)

The ABC's of Our Savior

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6 and 2 Nephi 19:6

Nativity at Preston Temple

Today in Sacrament Meeting, a young man bore his testimony of the Savior and used the alphabet to identify who He is to him personally.  As I listened to him share this list, it seemed a good way to stay focused on our Lord and Savior while renewing our baptismal covenants when we partake of the Sacrament and promise to take upon the name of Jesus Christ and be like Him.  The scripture above already gives you a start.

He is my Advocate, Beloved, Creator, Deliverer, Exemplar, Foundation, God, Hope . . . you get the idea.  Make up your own.  Your alphabet will evolve as you study the scriptures and find more words to describe our beloved King, the Prince of Peace.

A dear friend told me how she was at a meeting where people were supposed to choose their favorite hero.  She said that Jesus Christ is her hero--the ultimate hero over all other super heroes.
